24/03/19 erano almeno... 10 anni che non andavo alla Fiera di Santa Maria. Per molto tempo è stato, pioggia permettendo, il segno che la primavera era arrivata e che si potevano dismettere cappotti e maglioni e girare più leggeri. Tutto è rimasto come allora: odore di frittelle calde misto a salamella,con un sottofondo di incenso. Famiglie con bambini, senza bambini, gruppi di amici e amiche, ragazzini dallo sguardo finto truce alle autoscontro, ragazzine un po’ meno truci ma anche loro alle autoscontro, vero fulcro sociale della fiera. Questa immobilità del tempo per una volta l’ho trovata rassicurante e confortevole. I hated myself when some called me smart/intelligent simply caused I have a Degree and a Masters. Hate myself even more when they have high expectation on me only to see myself fall at first try.
I scored well in my school exams but they have no idea how much I struggled to read even until I was 10 years old.
I graduated with a degree in engineering but they have no idea that I've failed and retook multiple subjects every semesters. Same goes with my Masters. I have a job that pays me "okay" but I still struggled to achieve my dream and happiness. I'm jealous of my friends who are happy with their career and what they do.
I want someone to talk to but they will tell me that "you should be grateful, others are going through worse". That makes me feel alone and depressed.
Please don't see me just by my success. See my failures, my struggles, how many times I fall, how many times I gave up, how many times I retreat, my depression, how I decided to fight back. Then we can talk about my success. #storyofmylife#2019diary
