AM SKINCARE ROUTINE ☀️
For years, I used a gel cleanser (my faves: @isclinical Cleansing Complex & @larocheposay Toleriane Gentle Cleanser). In 2017, I found #BiologiqueRecherche Lait VIP O2 and fell in love w/ this milky cleanser: gentle & hydrating yet super-efficient! Since I started using milk- over gel-cleansers, I noticed less breakouts and less dehydration lines. That being said, I still reach for a gel- or clay-based cleanser, occasionally 😉
VitC serum: #paulaschoice C15 Booster - serum w/ 15% L-ascorbic acid + Ferulc acid + VitE. There are several VitC derivatives but I see better results w/ daily use of L-AA (LAA has been shown to boost collagen production, fade dark spots, even skin tone, improve firmness & protect from oxidative stress). [optional: 5-min break while I drink my coffee]
3️⃣ HYDRATE +
Before applying my hydration serum, I mist my face ( #niod Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist offers hydration & antioxidants) and follow w/ 1 of the following combos:
a) #HadaLabo Gokujyun Lotion (my fave watery hydration serum after #niod MMHC) mixed w/ #rejuvi Flavanoid Complex (gloopy dark yellow serum rich in flavanoids)
b) #HadaLabo mixed w/ a dollop of #Skinoren (20% azelaic acid cream - courtesy of @beauty_unplugged )
I love lightweight moisturizers - CeraVe PM lotion has been a fave for years but for the past 2 months I’ve been using #AlliesofSkin Molecular Multi-Nutrient Day Cream* (gifted) and I’m so impressed! From fermented extracts to probiotics, this formula is a joy to read & use: ceramides, humectants, caffeine, niacinamide, licorice root extract, fermented black tea extract, Lactobacilus ferment, green tea extract, squalane, Zinc PCA, superoxide dismutase, peptides - all combined in a lightweight formula hosted in practical pump-tube 🙌🏻
5️⃣ PROTECT #paulaschoice Super-light Daily Wrinkle Defense - Broad Spectrum SPF30 is my fave sunscreen (great texture & works so well under makeup) but I wish it had higher sun protection. For higher a broad spectrum, I reach for @skinceuticals Mineral Radiance, @kravebeauty Beet The Sun or @biodermafrance Photoderm Max.

#skinemmies2018 | days 20 & 21 | splurge & product of the year
I can’t name one product and the same goes for splurge. There is no single product that can do it all - so my splurge is investing in good skincare routines 🤓
A show-me-your-skincare-storage type of challenge (back in 2015) made me realize that my skincare wardrobe required 2 cabinets + 1 drawer of storage. I barely could use it all and, despite all money invested, my skin was not in happy place and choosing my routine took longer than it should 😞That's when I decided to streamline my skincare and my rule of thumb was: "It has to fit in 1 CABINET" (not a giant one, that’s cheating 🙈). Sounded so simple but I struggled! There are so many interesting products that I would like to buy & test. This cabinet still has too much stuff but believe it used to be worst (check #skinminimalist_shelfie ): I used to have more than 12 cleansers, now I only have 4.
I have no backups elsewhere but I do own a couple items of skincare not featured in this photo:
• VitC serum (kept in the fridge)
• Bioderma Micellar water (next to where I store cotton pads & facial cloths)
• bedside-table essentials: hand cream & lip balm.
• @trinnylondon makeup stack (my bag)
• a couple of unopened PR products
HOW TO REDUCE OR KEEP YOUR SKINCARE WARDROBE SIZE?
📌buy only after finishing an equivalent product from your cabinet - aka the #1empty1newbie (a strategy that some of you already know & support - thanks!)
📌pick faves: occasionally, I manage to finish 2 or 3 oldies but I only buy 1 newbie, which leads to:
• more cabinet space
• more use of my faves
• faster routine (less to choose from)
• money saved
• more skin benefits from consistent use
• is liberating: I own my skincare and not the other way around
📍Now I challenge you: show your skincare cabinet - please tag me so that I won’t miss it 😉
A big thanks to @antiagingamber and @morethanjustskin for hosting this amazing challenge that brings the #skincarecommunity together ❤️
I’ve had my Pixi sample size for ages - it took me a LONG time to fit this into my routine and I always found it a bit ‘meh’ to be honest - but once I found out when and where to use this - oh boy is it good 🤗
I use this about 3 times a week in my AM routine before vitamin c. They both just work amazingly to brighten and smooth my complexion. I couldn’t be without this now! The 5% Glycolic isn’t too strong and the Aloe Vera makes it soothing enough to use it a few mornings a week (I use actives almost every night). I’ll repurchase again as I am just LOVING this! 😊
#1empty1newbie | oil-based cleanser
Harborist Balm-Gel Cleanser* (£25/100mL,*gifted): a balm-gel texture that feels like gelled oil on the skin and comes in a practical pump bottle! I apply it on dry skin, massage it to lift make-up, SPF & grime of the day, add a bit of water to emulsify & rinse off w/ water, preferably with a damp cloth to avoid a residue left behind. This is not a deal breaker to me because I use a damp cloth every night to remove makeup & SPF but if my skin feels sensitized, I like to have the option of just using water. INCI is simple & effective (no dyes, no fragrance, no irritants): caprylic/capric triglyceride, glycerin, jojoba oil, camellia seed oil, avocado oil, water, sucrose laurate, sucrose stearate, sucrose palmitate and bisabolol. If I could fully rinse it off w/ water, it would become my fave oil-based cleanser. Still, gets a well-deserved 2nd place 🙌🏻
Su-Man Skincare Purifying Cleansing Gel Oil (£38/125mL): a hybrid oil & water-based gel formula w/ similar texture & performance to the Harborist cleanser (gently and effortlessly takes the day off and a damp cloth s required to fully remove it). However, Su-Man cleanser has much longer INCI that includes several oils (e.g sunflower, apricot, rosa canina), plant extracts (e.g. wintergreen leaf, raspberry fruit), fatty acids, hydrolyzed wheat protein and… fragrance. For those that enjoy a "scented oomph" in rinse-off products, this might be a great option but I still prefer a fragrance-free formulation. That being said, I used the full tube and will take ✂️ to get the very last bit of product 👍🏻
Clinique Take The Day Off cleansing balm (25€/125 mL): slayer of makeup/SPF, affordable, effective, does not sting my eyes, fragrance-free, emulsifies & rinses-off beautifully (w/ damp face cloth or just w/ water without leaving greasy residue). Plus, INCI is simple & effective (ethylhexyl palmitate, safflower seed oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Polyethylene, PEG-5 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Water, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol). I went through countless jars because it ticks all the right boxes - my fave oil-based cleanser 💜
#1empty1newbie I'm so excited to finally get to try the #jordansamuelskin hydrate facial serum! The #niod multi molecular complex served me so well, and I'll definitely be buying more in the future, but I thought it was time to try something new! I reviewed the niod serum a few posts below. Hope you're all having a great weekend so far 🍑
💜 #1empty1newbie dear @tatcha luminous dewy skin - you will be mist 😢 I love this product and will repurchase it once I've run through all my mists lol I was able to be heavy handed with it because it's such a fine mist but so hydrating 😍 now onto @mycaudalie beauty elixir* - a cult favourite for many! .
#1empty1newbie (more like 2 newbies 😉) face oil
🗑 #empty #jordansamuelskin etoile oil - beautiful oils blend! Unscented, nourishing & calming. Very versatile, I used it on its own, mixed into serums & creams - it played along beautifully with anything. I finished it up mixing with #farmstay ampoule in #pmroutine
I used both the usual version of this oil & the retinol one, too, but eventually I think I like this one better, prefer to have my actives in serums rather than oils!
Not sure if I’ll repurchase, but not because there’s anything wrong with it - just want to try more new products :)
🆕 #newbies #leahlaniskincare siren & champagne serums - despite being called serums, these are also oil blends. Unlike Etoile, they do smell, and the scents are amazing, each one in its own way. I’ve had them for a while, but didn’t use daily, just once in a while, and now plan to use them daily in pm in same way as Etoile: mixed with hydrating ampoule (taking turns every other night). They are hydrating & actually pretty lightweight, and so far I love them :)

#1empty1newbie 🧖🏻♀️💛 As much as I try new products and find new favorites, there are some that I end up loving and repurchasing. The @bareminerals oil obsessed total cleansing oil Is Step 1 in my make up removing routine. It breaks down all my make up, even waterproof mascara.
The oil itself is water soluble so it doesn’t leave a heavy film on the skin. It also doesn’t dry out my skin, which is great since my skin is super dry. A little bit of this goes a long way so it takes a few months till I have to replenish. It has a pump which makes it super easy to use. •
🧬 Current Unopened Stash 🧬
There was a time when I went through a phase where I would hoard a lot of unopened products and at the same time have a lot of opened products. Well.. I hated it. I was so used to having only 3 products in my routine so when I was in the hoarding phase, I became anxious every time I looked at my stash. My skin wasn’t happy either because I was slapping on and switching around too many products.
So nowadays I always try my best not to cave in to temptations and keep my stash small, as well as sticking to #1empty1newbie . And I feel I am doing a pretty good job at it so far! *pats own back*
Here is my current unopened products (a lot of minis and travel size!), some are repurchases because I love having them in my routine:
🧬 Huxley Secret of Sahara Toner: Extract It
🧬 Huxley Secret of Sahara Essence: Grab Water
🧬 Huxley Secret of Sahara Oil: Light & More (mini)
🧬 Huxley Secret of Sahara Essence: Grab Water (mini)
🧬 Huxley Secret of Sahara Essence: Brightly Ever After (mini)
🧬 Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid
🧬 Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel
🧬 Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner
🧬 Alpha H Liquid Gold
🧬 Banila Clean It Zero Special Kit
🧬 Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (mini)
How is your unopened stash looking like right now? Over-flowing? Decent? Non-existent?
I’ve been trying the Benton Cosmetics Tea Tree Cleansing Water since I finished my Too Cool For School cleansing water and I much prefer it. I received the Benton cleansing water from @0.8l_usa, and I bought the too cool for school one on sale from Sephora.
A year ago I might have said any cleansing water was the same if you asked, but since then I’ve tried ones I didn’t like. Usually this is because they seem to leave a film on my face, but the Benton cleansing water leaves me feeling refreshed with no issues. It almost feels just like water, but it does cleanse. I’m excited to keep using this and hope it continues to go well!
Last #1empty1newbie is my morning antioxidant vitamin C serum. I repurchased Skinceuticals Phloretin CF from @harbenhouse , originally $165 for 1oz, with a 30% off discount code down to $115.50. I'm keeping half in the original bottle in the fridge, the other half decanted into the empty bottle (also kept in the fridge between applications). .
According to my feed I started using the empty on mid May 2018. I've been quite consistent with the daily use of it, but some days I didn't. By using 4 or 5 drops "daily" that 1oz lasted 10 months.

Verb Ghost Shampoo & Conditioner 👻👻 🧴Consumer notes - lightly fragranced shampoo & conditioner. It claims to be weightless and gentle. Based on one use, it’s a little drying. Ingredients wise it does contain silicones but apparently no gluten (who even knew this would be a thing?) 🤓 Business strategy notes - Verb is a mid-range haircare brand that sells a 12 fl oz or 355ml bottle of shampoo or conditioner for USD$16 + tax. It’s more expensive than what you normally find in Walmart, and cheaper than what you find in Sephora. However, it is sold at both Walmart and Sephora (and Amazon). Convenient or strategically confusing? 🤔 — #empties #1empty1newbie #1emptynonewbie #verbhaircare #skincarecommunity #skincarediary #itgtopshelfie #capsuleskincare #cleanbeauty #greenbeauty #productreview
1 empty & 1 newbie. I finished the jergens wet skin moisturizer. Which is an in shower body moisturizer that you use after showering before stepping out of the shower. I loved this scent, the monoi flower grows all over Hawaii and that was my favorite vacation ever so whenever I used this It reminded me of Hawaii. But they got rid of this scent! @jergensus please bring back the monoi oil scent for the wet skin moisturizer. I went with Argan oil to replace it, it doesn't smells as good but it gets the job done. #review#1empty1newbie#moisturizer#bodylotion#lotion#jergens#target#ulta#ultabeauty

Happy Sunday, Beautiful! My lazy day post is a #1empty1newbie for cleansing balms! I seriously go through cleansers so quickly, I love it!! I think there’s no need for an introduction for the @banilacousa cleansing balms anymore. I finished the nourishing version this time and like always, it was a joy to use. Banilla Co cleansing balm, along with the Hemish and Farmacy green clean are my all time favorite cleansing balms. All three takes off my waterproof sunscreen like a dream, doesn’t leave any residues and doesn’t make my dry skin feel tight! Forever a repurchased!.
My newbie this time is @you.skincare Barrier Repair Cleasing Balm. I love You Skincare but I didn’t have a good first impression of this balms last night when I first used it. I think I was using too much so I’ll try to use less tonight and see how it goes. Will update you guys on later review!.
What are your Sunday plan?

Drunk Elephant, why has this clean beauty brand exploded in popularity in the past few years? 🤓 Business notes - smart business strategy and a company that has capitalised on a broader lifestyle trend. First, the strategy is simple and the value proposition is easy to understand - non-toxic skin care in brightly coloured Instagram friendly packaging. Distributing via Sephora (who happened to launch their clean beauty seal in June 2018) has drastically sped up awareness and adoption.
Second, clean skincare appears to be the next logical extension of the broader trend of non-toxic living e.g. organic food, organic clothing, zero waste, non-toxic household products. 🧴Consumer notes - in terms of the products, my top pick is the C-Firma Day Serum. Noticeable results and suitable for all skin types. —
#1empty1newbie Two favorites edition.
Empty - @madhippieskinproducts Facial SPF. This was really nice. It’s simple and effective and lasted forever (10+months with one use per day). I’ll definitely repurchase in the future.
Newbie - @joshrosebrook Nutrient Day Cream. An all-time favorite.

My #oneemptyonenewbie moisturizers!
Finally, I got to try something from @bentoncosmetic, their Cacao Moist and Mild Cream! This was given by Ate Luna @sparklesandnargles . This is really a good moisturizer. It is lightweight and easy to absorb by the skin. You can use it in the morning or at night. You can also use it under make up! It doesn’t break me out, no sting, and no irritation. ❤️
I’m now going to try something new, and this is from @onsaemeein_official‘s Perfect Moisture-Cream with Trehalose Extract 5.0%. Trehalose is a type of sugar used as a moisturizer and flavoring agent.

#1empty1newbie today: cleansers! 💦
🗑Empty: #biologiquerecherche Lait U
• I use this as a lone cleanser in the morning, and my first cleanser for days I wear no makeup. It’s good enough to remove sunscreen.
• The texture is creamy rather than milky. I use around 2 pea-sized amount for my entire face. This bottle lasted me for at least 3 months.
• To me, there’s no discernible scent.
• It applies beautifully like a moisturizing cream. I massage it on my face and it makes my skin feels so really soft.
• I wash it off, and my face looks cleaner and brighter. It’s non-drying and refreshing for me.
• This is a really good cleanser for me, and I can’t imagine how the other Laits (EV and VIP O2) are, if this is already so good! I will try those maybe next time 🤗
• Rating: 5/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
🎀Newbie: #haba Squa Cleansing Oil
• Finally used this one and I feel that it’s maybe spoiled already 😔 hahaha. The smell is fishy.... like fish oil (?). The scent dissipates rather quickly but I cannot get used to it. I remember reading it in one of the reviews/comments about this product, but I can’t find it. Anyway my skin didn’t react negatively so I think it’s still ok to use haha 😂
• Its thickness and texture is similar to FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil.
• To be honest, its performance is really similar to FANCL MCO: removes dirt and makeup very effectively and gently, and it doesn’t leave skin feeling dry nor greasy.
• I’m not sure how it works against waterproof mascara, though. I recommend using point makeup remover for those anyway.
• In summary, I would have loved it if not for that fishy smell! I didn’t see any other reviews mentioning about this scent so I think it’s only my product 😓 I know I won’t repurchase though, as I’d rather be safe and buy Attenir (if I want a scented relaxing smell) or FANCL (if I like unscented one).

#1empty1newbie I finished @muradskincare clarifying cleanser. It contains 1,5% salicylic acid , I like using it once or twice a week to purify my skin or if it looks too oily. Unfortunately, I cannot use this type of cleanser daily as it causes for my eczema to inflame but twice a week is good.
Switching now to @peterthomasrothofficial anti aging gel which has 1% of salicylic and 1% of Glycolix acid plus Vitamin B5. It has nice vs right peach scent to it which doesn't bother me.
I really get satisfied when I finish a product. What about you?
Another #1empty1newbie post! It’s one of those months where everything runs out at the same time; this time it’s oil. The empty is The Jojoba Company’s jojoba oil. Honestly there isn’t much to say. I like the packaging a lot- I’d take a pump over a dropper in literally every situation - especially because it got every last drop out without having to unscrew the lid. I also like that jojoba oil doesn’t smell weird. It is a fairly “oily” oil though, and can look quite shiny and take a while to sink in.
The newbie is Facetheory’s Plumping Pomegranate Oil. I quite like experimenting with new oils! Pomegranate oil is apparently extremely hydrating. This one has a dropper, which is not at all uncommon. The neck is a little small, so I see myself getting the bottle messy over time, but at least the dropper’s nice and sturdy, picks up product properly, and reaches the bottom, so I don’t have too many complaints. So far I’ve noticed the oil has a slightly unusual smell, like so many oils do, and is very thick. However, it soaks into my skin super fast and doesn’t leave a shiny or oily finish. It also plays nicely with my other products. I’m liking it a lot ☺️ Let’s see whether it beats my all-time favourite, squalane.

Empty: OSKIA SUPER 16 - Advanced Nutri-active Collagen Serum
This one is beyond words - that's just what it is🎈🌟🎉🎉
It contains Bakuchiol amongst other things but I was curious about this ingrediens and was excited to try it on my skin. As the name SUPER 16 might suggest it was propably not only that one ingrediens that made the difference on my skin but I see a difference in the GLOW I now have every morning🌟 Thank you @oskiaskincare - again🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💋💕
Would deffinately buy it again (on a sale🙈😄) Newbie: Algenist Elevate - Advanced Retinol Serum
I have 2 small 5 ml samples and I think it's enough to test it thoroughly on my skin and see if it's worth the buy to me😊
💧 #fuzzy1empty1newbie ONE EMPTY, ONE REPURCHASE💧.
Eye care products are one of those strange products that no one seems to agree on. Personally, I started to like them more once I stopped expecting 1 eye product to "erase" issues. Nothing does that. So I went back to basics that were indispensable to my full face skincare routine: retinol, vitamin c, hydration, & moisturizing.
The #drwu Brightening Eye Serum with Vitamin C is a gel serum that I use during the day to fill my Vit C slot. I originally picked it up after reading a positive review from @snails4eva. The Timeless Vit C + Ferulic serum is too strong for use around my eyes, so I needed something that could deliver vitamin c without aggravating the delicate skin. Dr Wu's Vit C serum is a light scent free gel that's soothing, refreshing, and very gentle with no irritation I could notice.
I don't find this serum particularly hydrating or moisturizing on its own, but absorbs well enough that it layers beautifully under an eye cream of your choice. As I'm sure we all know, when it comes to eye products, results will wildly vary. I'm not necessarily looking for visible results, but more for the protective boost vitamin c provides with the use of sunscreen.
I'm pretty happy with the serum to repurchase. The tiny, minor sun spots creeping close to my eyes are not getting worse, which is good to see. I don't wear makeup so I couldn't tell you how it performs under concealer or foundation, but it has a greaseless finish.
What treatments do you like for your eye care?

Shampoo... #1empty1newbie as hosted by @skinminimalist. My hair is fine, but I have lots of it, it’s long, dyed at the last 10 inches, blond, and 12 inches natural light brown from the roots (I’ve decided to not dye it anymore so growing it out) a lazy persons balayage if you will! It snaps easily especially at the crown so I have to limit stylings tools etc even though I need them to control the flyaways....empty is @phyto_uk cedrat which is for oily roots. I have to wash my hair every day or every other day really as my scalp gets itchy and it looks a mess. This shampoo was nice to use and on day 1 looked good but didn’t control the oil enough for 2 days. I like the branding and will continue to try others from this brand but this particular shampoo wasn’t for me 🤷♀️. It was a thin watery texture that lathered well, sleek packaging. Other items from this brand have performed well though. Newbie is @tonymaleedyhair shampoo after reading a review on here, I’ve used it once and enjoyed, slightly medicinal smelling that I don’t mind. Their customer service or communication on here and email is non existent though which is a shame as the branding and formulation looks pretty good. I will report back. Shout your shampoo greats !!!! #shampoo#hair#hairofinstagram#health#hairstyles#hairhealth#shine#beauty#care#selfcare#beautybloggers#beautyaddict#longhair
empty: #caudalie energizing and smoothing #eyecream . I did also use it as an antioxidant #faceserum underneath screen and it does goes well. It contains #VitaminC derivative if I’m correct.
Empty (p2) #thursdayplantation#teatree#bodywash energizing and nice. But I want something that goes on forever 😂 I also finished a soap (p3) and I still have like 7 backup ones, all from hotel 😂
Newbie: 3-in-1 moisturizer and glow activated anti-wrinkle #serum . I’d probably used the latter as eye cream as well. Also the 3 Causalies are from the set I got during Black Friday.
Also wanna mention murad youth renewal retinol #sample Love it! And Dr. Jart Calming #facemask again ❤️ it! It calms and cools. Nice before a big event. I generally don’t pray for super glowing skin before big days (say my undergrad graduation ceremony) I just want nothing bad happens, and this mask helps me do so, especially I see a sign of breakouts or blemishes.

Eigentlich eher #1halfempty1newbie 🙃
Was sind eure Erfahrungen?
INCI Geek & Gorgeous C-Glow:
Aqua (Water), Ascorbic Acid, Ethoxydiglycol, PEG/PPG/Polybutylene Glycol-8/5/3 Glycerin, Ferulic Acid, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide
INCI Beauty Glam Vitamin C Serum:
Aqua, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Water, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Bisabolol, Phytic Acid

#1empty1newbie vitamin C serum
Vitamin C is one of the most efficient antioxidants, it also helps brighten the complexion, gently exfoliate (if used in the form of #ascorbicacid ) & enhance efficiency of sunscreen. My skin seems to be loving the ascorbic acid much more than derivatives 😃
🗑 #empty #timelesshaskin 20% vit c + e + ferulic acid - the best vitamin C serum I’ve tried so far! I’ve emptied probably 4 bottles of this & still love it!
It’s watery, sinks in very fast, has quite a serious concentration of vit C (20%) + classic partners: vit E & ferulic acid. It’s considered to be abudget-friendly “dupe” for the famous #skinceuticals CE Ferulic (which I haven’t tried, mainly due to the price point!)
When I started using it, I saw brightening/whitening effect pretty fast, though it didn’t get rid of couple of more stubborn pigmentation spots on my right cheek.
On the few attempts to start regular use of #adapalene (Differin) or #tretinoin , I felt a bit of sensitivity to this serum, because it’s acidic, so when I give Differin another try, I might need to switch to a derivative rather than ascorbic acid.
I probably will be repurchasing this serum again 💜
🆕 #newbie #skindeva 20% vit c + e & ferulic acid - my friend @stuff_user loves it & recommended it on many occasions, so I had to give it a try! It seems to have very similar ingredients & proportions, so I expect it to be similar to the Timeless one :) will keep updating!
I first discovered iUNIK when the brand sent me two products to try out. Now I have bought both of them with my own money as well! This Tea Tree Relief Serum is my HG and so is the Centella Calming Gel Cream (already using my third tube). Please tell me your favorite products from iUNIK! I have tried only two but I would love to try more! 💚

So, let’s do a #1empty1newbie because I have loved these posts all the time I stalked skincare accounts before I started my own. My weekend morning luxury is hydrogel eye patches (no way I have time for that at 5.15 a Monday morning) #heimish bulgarian rose water hydrogel eye patch is empty. I really loved these, they came saturated in essence and did a good job of hydrating and de-puffing. I did not like the strong scent though. New in is the #shangpree Ginseng berry eye mask. I tried them this morning, and first impression was that they did not contain that much essence. #skincareaddict#skincareroutine#skincarelover#kbeauty#koreanskincare#empties

🍏 #1empty1newbie - continuing on with sulfate and silicone-free shampoos, I'm now using the @love_kevin_murphy angel wash since I've run out of the @briogeo be gentle, be kind shampoo. I love the briogeo shampoo, I bought the duo but obviously finished up the conditioner much earlier. It smells so good like fresh appled and left my hair feeling so nice and clean. Would defs repurchase it 💚 .
Finally I can revealed the secret sunscreen that I've been using and loving for the past months. 📹 Click the IGTV icon underneath my profile picture to go to my IGTV video, where I show how I use it and why I love it 🎉
Have a splendid Friday, lovely people 🤗 ♥️ PR sample @larocheposaynordic
Cleansing Balm has become one of my favorite products because I love the ritual of scooping it out, watching it melt, and giving myself a mini face massage as I watch it dissolve my makeup.
I’ve been using @banilacousa Clean it Zero and @farmacybeauty Green Clean for months now and they both ran out at the exact same time 😭 I’ve written a comparison in a previous post, but after finishing both I think the experience is too different for me to really compare! Green Clean melts the second it touches your skin which makes it such a luxurious experience, but sometimes I like the thicker consistency of Clean It Zero. I’ve had fun alternating between both depending on my mood that day.
But on to something new! I’ve been loving @renskincareus’s overnight balm, so I figured their cleansing balm had to be just as amazing. Going back to my love of the cleansing balm ritual, REN’s directions make this balm an EXPERIENCE.
Step 1: Apply to dry skin and massage for a few minutes
Step 2: Add a small amount of water and watch it transform into a rich milk consistency
Step 3: Rinse with water or the use a damp muslin cloth (included with the balm)
It might not seem like a huge thing, but the simple added step of adding a bit of water and continuing to massage my skin makes the experience even more relaxing for me.
#empties Drunk Elephant C-Firma 15ml 🍊
It claims to be a Vitamin C Serum which is meant to brighten, firm and even out complexion.
My notes - lasted about 2 months of daily use at 1 pump per day in the mornings. I did see the hyperpigmentation on my cheeks lighten (slightly) with no skin irritation. It is an orange liquid, a little sticky but absorbs quickly.
However, it is expensive at USD$44, and there are many cheaper Vitamin C products out there. It’s nice, but time to try something new 😏 —
💧 #fuzzy1empty1newbie ONE EMPTY, ONE REPURCHASE💧.
Another perpetual repurchase, I decided to purchase a new glass bottle of the #matsuyama Hadauru Emulsion because the dispensing cap is easier to remove to refill. A bit of a silly reason, but what can i say, I'm a bit of a packaging nerd.
Thankfully my favourite emulsion was not reformulated during the Matsuyama 2018 refresh of the Hadauru line. It's still the thin, milky, soothing, slightly cooling, scent free emulsion I originally fell in love with. Packed with the same plethora of ceramides that characterize the Hadauru line, this is one of the very few emulsions that don't clog my pores. This may not be the case for everyone though, as I know a few people who still suffered clogging.
The Matsuyama website has an English version with complete ingredient lists, so if you're in doubt, you can check there. The complete line and refills can be found on Amazon Japan Global and Kirei Station for around ¥1,400 up to $22 USD. Refills are around ¥850 up to $16 USD depending where you purchase.

1 EMPTY 1 NEWBIE: Vitamin C
If I haven't said it enough, I love vitamin C, more specifically L-Ascrbic acid (LAA), and it's a non negotiable part of my morning routine. LAA is not only a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from free radical damage, but it's also a tyrosinase inhibitor (TI), meaning that it prevents the synthesis of melanin and consequent hyperpigmentation. I want to do a post on TI's in the near future, so more on that later!
EMPTY: @gardenofwisdomskincare vitamin C 23% serum & ferulic acid
Did a full review on this a few posts back so won't go into too much detail, but I really love this serum!! 23% LAA with a super simple INCI and ridiculously affordable price tag - only £10! Lasted 4 months with daily use and had a decent rate of oxidation. Airless pump packaging. Brightened skin tone whilst being gentle. Cosmetically elegant and a joy to use everyday. Would highly recommend and repurchase in the future!
NEWBIE: @ausceuticals Vitamin C serum
Although I loved the GOW serum, I have commitment issues and am always looking for the next best thing. When I came across @ausceuticals, a Perth based skincare brand that shares many of the same skincare philosophies as me, I knew I had to dive in! This serum contains 20% LAA, 3% less than GOW, but it also boasts a range of other antioxidants and brightening extracts (swipe for INCIs!). Additionally, it contains vitamin E as well as ferulic acid, completing the LAA trifecta for optimal stability. This is fragrance, silicone, and now essential oil free. Has an optimal pH of 2.9-3.4 and also comes in an opaque airless pump bottle. Retails for $45 AUD which is quite decent for an active serum. This really seems to tick all the boxes for an effective LAA serum so I'm very excited test it out!
The textures of these serums are actually very similar - lightweight, milky, slightly viscous. This one is white, so monitoring rate of oxidation will be easy. Leaves a very slightly tacky feeling for a few minutes but it doesn't interfere with the rest of my routine. Some slight tingling around my nose on application, but the area is pretty tender since my nose has been running like a tap this week.

PM Routine 🌙
✨ #EmmaHardie Moringa Balm Cleanser* - I'm not normally a #DoubleCleanse devotee, but I'm giving this concept another try, when I can be bothered 🤷🏻♂️ Truth be told, any well formulated water-based cleansed should be able to effectively remove chemical SPF, so I don't really get behind this trend. Although, I must say, this product leaves my skin feeling *so* soft and is a total dream to use 🤩
✨ #SimpleSkin Refreshing Gel Wash - an affordable staple for the longest time. I'm almost at the end of this and looking forward to trying out few new gel cleansers that I haven't been allowing myself to use until I get through this never ending tube, a la #1empty1newbie .
✨ #Clinique Moisture Surge Concentrate - hydration and a hit of antioxidants.. ☑️.
✨ #PaulasChoice Clinical Ceramide Moisturiser - at this stage, I'm forcing myself to use this up. Such a thin, lacklustre formulation that tries to sell buzzword ingredients to justify its £55 pricetag. Full review on the blog. May pass this on... 👎🏻
✨ #TheOrdinary Hemi-Squalane - I'm not an avid user of oils, but I added a few drops of this to my moisturiser in an attempt to give it the hydration it should be providing, but doesn't. This is a great, lightweight oil, especially for combination-oily skins. I may use this as a cleansing oil, as I don't like having to rely on an oil as a standby for a crappy moisturiser.

I forgot to keep the empty for this to be a real #1empty1newbie but I bought this @luneandaster Super Stellar mascara at @bluemercury when I ran out of my beloved @neutrogena healthy volume mascara. I wish I didn’t have to switch it up but I just learned that Neutrogena isn’t #crueltyfree 🙈
The Super Stellar is high volume but it definitely clumps easily and also smudges a bit. I guess you could pretend it’s a smoky eye? I might try something else when I run out. Open to recommendations!
This is the second bottle of Clarins Fix Make-up that I have finished and it is going to be my last one. The mist is fine, has a light rose scent but as to getting rid of cakey look or prolonging makeup stay, it does nothing. Sometimes, when I sprayed too much, it got my powder moving and took extra time to set, when that happened it also left dripping marks. As a refresher it works, but I won't use it on bare skin since it leaves a light film. Due to fine sprayer it has lasted me almost a year of constant use!
Newbie is Too Faced HangoveRx setting spray. It smells amazingly good but it shoots the product rather than mists. Still am excited to use it!

💧 #fuzzy1empty1newbie ONE EMPTY, ONE REPURCHASE💧.
My tiny jar of #pdc Cutura Moist Cream RN is done. I feel like I just got it having opened it 2 short months ago, but what can you really expect with only 45g to work with?
Nothing has really changed since my initial impressions. It's fragrance & scent free, with a tiny hint of "smell" like other unfragranced lotions. The texture is between mid & heavy weight, & leaves a layer of moisture that's not uncomfortably heavy or greasy. If you're looking for "results" beyond a decent, moisturizing, bland cream, this probably isn't what you're looking for. This cream is marketed towards those in their 20s & 30s, so if you're in your 40s like me, results will probably something left to be desired. Keep in mind that there are many decent basic creams out there, so if Cutura is hard for you to get, you needn't suffer any FOMO (fear of missing out).
My newbie is actually a seasonal repurchase. I'm back to my favourite transitional gel cream, #kikumasamune Kome and Hakko Moisture Gel. Marketed as an anti-aging moisturizing all-in-one gel cream, it features a bevy of rice & yeast derivatives, HAs, Vit C derivatives, & amino acids. Fragrance free with a faint plasticky yeast smell.
I DON'T use it as an all-in-one. The gel cream makes for a lovely, cooling, moisturizing layer in my spring & autumn routines and gives my skin a plump, mochi elasticity that I love, but I still use 20+ products during transitional seasons. .
Having added more emollient, lightweight products that work well in my routine, I may be able to turn this AIO gel cream into a year round purchase. My other products can share the moisturizing load, & my cream no longer needs to be as heavily moisturizing anymore.
Anyone else starting to change into their transitional routines yet? The weather here has been warming up quickly for us. We're usually in a deep freeze until almost May, but this year with El Niño, our winter has been fairly short & mild.
I don't really have much to say that hasn't been said already about this iconic product. I use it every night and have since I first tried it almost 2 years ago.
I was hesitant to spend $15 on a lip balm. I was skeptical that it was really different from any $3 or $4 lip balm I could pick up at Walmart.
How's your week going sweeties?☺️ Im sooo behind on this skincare acct and I really missed posting and interacting with you guys. 😌 Well, the heck if im still shadowbanned Im still gonna post anyways.😆
.. #1empty1newbie post category is CLEANSERS!💧
💙This now empty Acwell cleanser served me very well. 😊 It has done a great job and has always been on my repurchase list. The sad thing is, its hard to find affordable prices of this one. And its almost always out of stock! 😌
💜The newbie - Innisfree Blueberry cleanser got my attention since it has the things I love in a cleanser: low ph and blueberry! 😍 So far, the only thing I didnt like about this one is that it doesnt smell like blueberry at all! 😝 Quite deceiving eh? 😜
Have you tried these? 🤗
EMPTY🌹 Naruko Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Moisturizer EX

NEWBIE 🌹Naruko Taiwan Magnolia Brightening and Firming Whitening Lotion EX.

#1empty1newbie body butter
🗑 #empty / 🆕 #newbie #thebodyshop body butter - love them!!! They’re moisturizing, nourishing, spread nicely & smell great. Also not too heavy, though, of course, this is not for israeli summer - but for winter they are perfect!
They aren’t sold here, and it’s a but tricky to order them to Israel online, so I just bring them from my trips a lot!

#1empty1newbie | Toners
Empty | Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Refresh
💦Posted the review for this. Scroll down if you're interested but this was a meh for me. I'm so happy to finally finish it! 😆
Newbie | Matsuyama Hadauru Moisturizing Infusion Balancing
💦 This is one I'm excited for! I bought this bottle in Japan last year. I first heard about the brand from @sgtfuzzybootsmc
The toner has a very watery consistency, no scent, and takes a while for my skin to absorb. I need to apply 3-4 layers to feel 'enough' tho. Will see how it goes.

Anyone else impacted by the ig and facebook bugs today?! Here's another #1empty1newbie - I've now run out of my favourite fave oil 😪 I've been a long time fan of the @sundayriley
UFO oil and this is the 2nd full-size bottle I've run through! It helps me with clearing active breakouts but most importantly keeping the breakouts at bay. I'm now using the @indie_lee squalene oil which is nice and hydrating but that's all I've been able to ascertain for now ☺ .
🌟 FAVOURITE LIP BALM 2018 🌟 @ecooking Multi Balm (PR sample) new Danish name 'Alt i én Balm' is the perfect dupe for the cult item of Elisabeth Arden's Eigth Hour Cream - minus the unmistakable smell of horse stable 🐎
of the latter.
It has its own distinct smell, mind you, but I'm fine that.
It had been laying in the back of my drawer for months and I only pulled it out because I couldn't find my otherwise favourite the Lip Conditioner @xellenceskincare
And I haven't looked back ever since 🙈
Although it's a multitasking balm I only use in on my lips (and cuticles and nails. And on my husband's eczema. And to set my brows and as a highlighter) okay... But I mainly use it on my lip.
When used overnight I wake up with plumbed and repaired lips 💋
I like to use a tiny amount underneath lipstick too. Although it might reduce the longevity of the lipstick, it makes it so much more comfortable to wear.
Apart from being a gorgeous multi-tasking balm, I appreciate that it is formulated without endocrine disruting chemicals and allergens, according to Kemiluppen App by the Danish Consumer Council Think Chemistry @tænkkemi
Do you practise 1empty 1newbie #1empty1newbie ?? ✍️✍🏽I did that with the Paula's Choice BHA 2% and got the @zoskinhealth Complexion renewal pads thanks to Sari's rec. @talesofskincare This has been on my wish list since last year but had to finish using the PC-BHA 2% 1st. I felt I was going to miss PC BHA 2% but surprise....surprise I absolutely don't and I'm absolutely loving these complexion renewal pads from Zoskin!! Review will be coming soon.
Spot any favourite?? ✍🏽✍️Or have questions on any let me know in the comments section please❣️❣️❣️
Bear with me, I think this is going to be sort of a mini series because I have a lot of empties and newbies.
Empty: Red serum
I really enjoy this serum, and it does the job. Fades my acne scars and give my skin moisture. I got this with the moisturiser but unfortunately I didn’t like the moisturiser as much so I gave it away.
Newbie: Cosrx snail mucin essence.
I knew I wanted something with snail mucus from the beginning. I read it’s sorta like a skincare power ingredient? But yeah, I wanted something that can calm my skin down from acne, anti aging, brightening scars, and hydrate my skin. I’ve read reviews of other brands but most I’ve read like the cosrx one more, so I bought it straight away. I do want to try the one from @iunik_official though
. Love this duo Vitamin C products and have been incorporating into my night skincare routine. The strong antioxidants properties able to fade my PIE and even out my skin tone. My skin feel glowy the next day. However, i have to be careful of not overuse it as it might irritate my sensitive skin (cheek area)
▫️Timeless CEF Acid Serum - my skin well tolerate the low ph vit c serum and it able to fade much of my post acne scars. Have to finish within 3 months otherwise the Vit C get oxidised and no more effective in whitening strength (empty)
▫️Melano CC - this affordable Japanese brand has been well appraised for it’s tube design which prolong Vit C product shelf life so that it will not easily oxidised when using it (New)
