I typically take this day to reflect on my year; my accomplishments, shortcomings, etc. I had a great photo and caption to use that I was sure would blow up my LIKES. Thing is - what I’ve done...where I’m going...none would be possible without the sacrifices my parents made for me. So in lieu of another vain social media post about myself today, I’d like to take a minute to honor these two warriors who came from nothing, but gave EVERYTHING to EVERYONE, EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Baba was 1st Gen Leb and served in the US Army in WWII. Mama raised 4 kids practically on her own while he worked day and night to make sure we had food on the table and got a good education. He died when I was 15 - I spent the majority of my life taking care of her. She suffered more than any human I’ve ever met, but you would never know talking to her. On my worst days, I will never come close to facing the challenges they did. They’re a constant reminder to work harder, stay humble, and appreciate this life to the fullest. Hopefully, they inspire someone out there to do the same. Wishing you all good health, love & happiness in 2019 🥂 And, Happy Birthday Baba ❤️
